New store will create 40 jobs
Motorpoint has announced plans to open a store in Leeds, which will strengthen the
used car retailer’s presence in West Yorkshire and mark its 22nd retail location.
Set to open this summer, Motorpoint is investing £15 million in the massive site with
redevelopment already in progress.
Located on Whitehall Road, close to Elland Road and just a mile from the city centre,
Motorpoint Leeds will showcase hundreds of nearly new and used cars from more than
30 manufacturers, all available to purchase and drive away the same day.
With recruitment already underway for a range of managerial, sales and vehicle
preparation roles, Motorpoint Leeds will create 40 new jobs.
Discussing the new store and why Motorpoint wants to expand its regional presence,
Mark Carpenter, Motorpoint Group CEO, said: “We’re excited to announce that we’re
opening our 22nd store, just a stone’s throw away from Leeds city centre.
“As the Car Buyer’s Champion, we know how important choice, value and quality are
for West Yorkshire motorists when shopping for their next car. Once open, Motorpoint
Leeds will double our presence in West Yorkshire and give car buyers the opportunity to
browse and test drive more than 1,000 vehicles across both our new Leeds store and
our existing Castleford store as well as thousands of more cars through our national
stock.”
The announcement follows a positive period for the used car retailer, with Motorpoint
reporting an 80% rise in pre-tax profit as part of its interim results released in November
2025.
With an established network of stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales,
Motorpoint offers car-buyers the chance to shop for their next car online, in-person or
over the phone.
