Position: Senior Marketing and Communications Executive (12 months maternity cover from January 2019)

We have a rare opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced individual to join our Marketing Team on a 12-month maternity cover basis. Leading on PR, communications and a range of marketing activities within the fast-paced world of entertainment and leisure, the role also covers copywriting, social media, influencer marketing, analytics & reporting and budget management.

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a PR and marketing role with a good understanding of the full marketing mix. Heading up PR & communications, you will have experience of building successful relationships with the media as well as exceptional copywriting skills and the ability and confidence to deal with people at all levels.

You’ll have at least one years’ experience working within social media with a good understanding of social stats and analytics. As a well-rounded marketer, you’ll need an understanding of traditional marketing techniques and a good eye for design and photography.

This is a varied role in a very busy department, so you’ll need to be organised with excellent attention to detail. Experience of working under pressure and managing multiple projects at the same is a must.

We have a rare opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate and talented Marketing Executive to join our Marketing Team, within the fast-paced world of entertainment and leisure. A key element of the role will be to work closely with music promoters on the creation and implementation of marketing plans to drive ticket sales for a wide range of Arena events, whilst also supporting the delivery of marketing initiatives across key business areas such as the National Ice Centre and National Catering.

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a busy marketing role with a good understanding of the full marketing mix, as this is a varied role and covers both traditional and digital marketing channels. Line management experience is highly desirable, as is the confidence to deal with people at all levels, as you’ll be chairing regular marketing and ticketing meetings so excellent communication skills are essential.

This is a varied role in a very busy department, so your organisation skills and attention to detail must be of a high level. Experience working under pressure to tight deadlines and managing multiple projects at the same time is a must and a good eye for design and photography is desirable.

Position: Box Office Agents
Hours: 1 x full time 40 hour per week role and additional casual hours roles
Rate of pay: £8.15 per hour


We are looking to recruit 1 full time staff member and additional casual staff members to join our existing Box Office team. As first point of contact for our customers, you will deal with a wide range of enquiries face to face and over the telephone. This includes selling tickets for all events at the venue, Panthers Ice Hockey matches, as well as public skating and many Ice Sports classes and activities.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and positive team player and be able to cope well in a fast paced and pressured environment. You will possess strong IT and written skills, be proactive in resolving customer enquiries and have good knowledge and interest in live events and/or Ice Skating/Sports.

You will need to be flexible – our Box Office is open 7 days a week and our busy times are weekends, evenings and Thursday/Friday mornings.

The National Ice Centre and National Catering are looking for a Chef De Partie to support our busy kitchen in providing high quality food to our thousands of customers per show throughout the operation at Nottingham Arena.

As a chef at our venue you will need ambition and speed. You will be working with fresh ingredients in state of the art kitchens under the guidance of the Sous Chef.

Our restaurants are busy and you will need stamina and skill to ensure our guests receive an exceptional dining experience. You should have the ability to focus, multi task and communicate whilst adhering to company specifications and producing the high quality food that our guests have come to expect.

Our menus change seasonally requiring you to attend training sessions to bring you up to speed with new dishes. You will have a knowledge of or be willing to learn about the importance of gross profits and how to achieve and maintain them.

Hygiene will be of major importance to you. You should be able to adhere to our strict health and safety policies and have an understanding of current food trends.

It goes without saying that being a team player is paramount.

Position: Kitchen Porter

Help keep a busy kitchen and other areas clean and functional through our events and day-to day operations. Shift pattern based around events and include, weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

The ideal candidate must be able to display:

You’ll help to keep a kitchen running smoothly by making sure everything is clean, tidy, safe and hygienic.

  • Getting pots, pans plates and cutlery back into use quickly

  • Making sure kitchen equipment is properly stored

Position: Management Accountant

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join our fantastic team of staff at the East Midlands’ biggest entertainment venue. The Motorpoint Arena Nottingham is part of the National Ice Centre, two venues that provide world class experiences in concerts, comedy, family shows, conferences, sport and ice skating.

In addition, we operate one of the UK’s biggest merchandise concession operations, with teams at two of the top three Arenas in the world - the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and The O2 in London and work on a wide range of outdoor events from British Summer Time in Hyde Park to the Tough Mudder series of events across the UK. The NIC is also home to a successful ice sports retail operation that is growing rapidly towards being the largest in the UK.

The role is within a small finance team which supports the Nottingham location as well as the wider NIC Company in respect of month-end and year-end accounts, capital accounting, KPI and management reporting as well as ad hoc projects such as systems implementation and support.

The position holder will form an integral part of the finance team bringing key skills and experience to assist the Financial Controller in bringing the department up to maximum efficiency and assisting on implementing numerous projects including the development of Standard Operating Practices (SOP), Financial Regulations and Business Planning.
 
You will be a dynamic and analytical accountant, with a flair for communicating financial information effectively to non-financial managers, and interpreting and manipulating data on a multi-cost centre basis. You will be able to work accurately to deadlines, and share a passion for being a team player delivering services that put the customer first. You will be a qualified accountant or a qualifying finalist, with experience of working in or with a SME.
